State of Flux

Fabrizio Sclocco

August 8th - August 29th 2026

Opening reception: August 8th, 2026 3pm - 7pm

State of Flux presents paintings by Fabrizio Sclocco that invites viewers into richly layered worlds where memory, emotion, and imagination intersect. Exploring the relationship between the adult self and the inner child, Sclocco's work merges figurative and abstract elements with references to classical architecture and symbolic imagery, creating evocative visual narratives that resonate on both personal and universal levels.

Drawing inspiration from Renaissance painting and informed by his background in set design, Sclocco has developed a distinctive visual language defined by luminous colour, theatrical composition, and expressive brushwork. Sculptural figures, recurring motifs, and carefully orchestrated negative space evoke themes of identity, vulnerability, and transformation, while encouraging multiple interpretations.

Working intuitively, Sclocco embraces ambiguity and symbolism over linear narrative, allowing each painting to reveal itself through sustained looking. The resulting works are both visually compelling and emotionally nuanced, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences while celebrating art's enduring capacity to illuminate what lies beneath the surface.
